Welcome to Newry Scouts

Hello, my name is Ronan. I am the Group Leader. Welcome to Newry Scouts. Scouting aims to build and develop young people's confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills. Badges can be gained and life skills learned from many activities. It is very rewarding working with young people who are proud of their achievements. Scouting opens a youths mind. They are able to do things they didn't know that they could do. The most important is element is FUN.

What do we do?

1st Dromore scouts have been in Newry for over 75 years. We help teach new skills to young people ranging from 6 to 25 years old. Throughout the year, young people learn teamworking, leadership and adaptability from scout activities such as hiking and camping

Scouting is for all ages and anyone can join at any time. We have members from 6 to 60 and everyone is still learning something new. We always love to hear from new people interesting in joining scouts, including adults and would love to talk to you.
