Seventeen eager Beaver Scouts arrived at the Scout Den on Home Avenue on Friday 25th April 2025 for an overnight adventure. The main purpose of this activity was to have fun, but we also were building the Beavers up for our other activities before the end of this summer; culminating in a two-night camp!
On Friday night, we played some games, had pizza for a supper and fell asleep after watching a modern classic (Disney’s Ratatouille, of course).
On Saturday, we awoke (early, at 6.20 am!) and started our morning slowly, getting washed up, dressed and packing away our sleeping gear. After a delicious continental breakfast (including cereal, pancakes, fresh fruit and yoghurt tubes…), we went on a big walk from the Den to the Albert Basin and along the first stretch of the greenway. This will count towards our 80 km for 80 years total (more on that in a later news post). After arriving back at the Den, we chilled whilst making some crafts, and then it was time for the Beavers to go home, a lot more tired than they arrived and having had a lot more fun too.
The big tidy up ensued, with the Scouters ensuring the Scout Den was gleaming before going home. We had a great team of volunteers for the overnight (as always) and our thanks go to Fiona, Bernadette, Rachel, Thomas, Ronan, Anthony and Rónán – it takes a village and all that.
Until next time… ⚜️
