County Youth Forum 2025

Some of our Venturer and Rover Scouts arrived at Craigavon Scout Hall at 5pm on Saturday the 8th of November to attend the Brian Boru County Youth Forum. Everyone enjoyed pizza for dinner, and then all of the youth split into groups based on their section. Each of the four groups designed a flag using craft supplies and creativity.

Next on the agenda was bowling, which the ventures described as fun, but not as fun as the arcade that they enjoyed afterward. One of our venturers specifically mentioned enjoying getting to know other venturers from the county through social activities.

When they returned to the hall, the youth members made their own crisp flavours! And took part in a quiz. Some of our Venturers even won the crisp competition with garlic crisps. They also enjoyed some karaoke and dancing before lights out.

The following morning the youth members enjoyed a couple more activities where they got to share their opinions about Scouting within and outside of their county,  they even got to design badges. Then it was time for speeches and elections, where each youth member wanting to become a county youth rep took turns performing speeches to their sections, explaining why they would be suitable for the position. Based on the speeches, the sections elected their reps that would represent them in the county but would also have the opportunity to attend the National Youth Forum in December, where they will learn more about being a youth representative, have their say on a wider scale and potentially run for National Youth Rep!

We are proud to say that two of our Venturers and one of our Rovers were voted in to county rep positions, and we look forward to seeing the changes and progress they make as a youth-led organisation.
