Eighteen of our Scouts met up at the car park in SMA Dromantine College for the Annual Family Fun Day on a dry Saturday evening. After everyone had arrived, we walked down to the football pitch where our Scouts pitched their tents for the night. At about 20:30, all tents were up, and Barry, Rónán & Anthony arrived with pizzas and chips for everyone. After the Scouts scoffed those down, we headed back over to the front of the college and started setting up the display camp. At 22:00, they finished up and headed back to camp for some free time.
The Scouts were up at 08:00 on Sunday and had breakfast, they then went back up to the display camp where some of the Scouts finished the display and the rest helped with putting up the gazebos for the stall holders as it was raining on and off.
At midday, they went into the college where they were provided with lunch. Some of the Scouts then went to the gates to help give out the leaflets and direct traffic and the rest went back to the football field and dismantled the camp (all tents came down dry 😊) they then went back over to the fun day and started the litter pick, relieving those on the gates every half hour or so.
At around 15:30, we made burgers for all the scouts, after this they went back to the litter pick until 17:00 when they started to dismantle the display camp.
Their parents collected them at 18:00, all the Scouts appeared to have enjoyed the camp and the craic.
