Scout Masterchef Sleepover

“To give and not to count the cost.”

Our Scouts recently demonstrated this spirit by donating 35 boxes of non-perishable food, bottled water, toiletries and clothing to our local homeless charity, People in Need. The generosity shown by the Scouts was a wonderful way to begin what was an exciting evening together.

Before the Master Chef Scout Style Sleepover began in earnest, our Group Leader, Rónán McGibbon, invested five new Scouts into the Group: Eva, MaryKate, Joseph, Rylan and Emily. It was a lovely moment to welcome them formally into the Troop.

With the formalities complete, the Scouts set to work preparing their three-course meals in patrols.

Wolf Patrol:
Garlic bread, campfire pizza with noodles, and s’mores.

Eagle Patrol:
Quesadillas, burgers, and marshmallows dipped in chocolate.

Buffalo Patrol:
Garlic bread, hot dogs, and s’mores.

Phoenix Patrol:
Garlic bread, cheat pizzas, and fruit skewers dipped in chocolate.

Otter Patrol:
Garlic bread, cheat pizzas, and fruit skewers dipped in chocolate.

After all the cooking, cleaning and putting everything away, the Scouts relaxed with a variety of board games, card games and a lively round of Just Dance. Around midnight, a movie was put on and everyone settled down for the night.

The following morning, the Scouts got up, enjoyed breakfast, tidied the hall, and played a few more games until their parents arrived to collect them just after 10am.

It was a fantastic event filled with teamwork, fun, and great food – a brilliant example of Scouting in action.
