The Scout section met up at Slieve Gullion’s Den at 09.30 on a Dry but breezy Sunday Morning. We had Two teams registered, and there were 9 other teams there all ready to compete for the Brian Ború Scout County Challenge Shield.
The bases consisted of Friction Bridges, Water purification, First Aid, Kims Game and Kelly Kettles.
The bases started around 10:20am, each base took approx. 20mins to complete, they were scored on Leadership, Working as a team, Participation and Completing the Task.
After lunch came the quiz consisting of 8 rounds, of which the scores were added to those gained before lunch.
When we all met up at the end in the hall we discovered that Newry’s Team 1, Dylan, Rylan, Joseph & Lucas won the Shield!
Everyone there made a great effort to attempt and overcome every challenge and we are proud of all those who attended.
